COASTAL CLEAN-UP DAY

City and Docents Partner with PVP Land Conservancy
for COASTAL CLEAN UP DAY

On Saturday morning, September 15th, a total of 268 volunteers, including 30 Los Serenos docents and 5 members of the PVP Land Conservancy, participated in the beach clean up at Abalone Cove beach. Peninsula High School and Palos Verdes High School sent student volunteers to the clean up, and RPV City Councilmen Jerry Duhovic and Jim Knight attended with their daughters.  The volunteers picked up 677 lbs. of trash and 249 lbs. of recyclables, as well as hundreds of pounds of invasive ice plant that was removed from cliff side.  This annual coastal cleanup day is much more than a day of cleaning one beach; people all over California pitch in to help in the beautification of oceans and waterways on this day.
