Subject: 'Giant Voice' public address system to be tested in San Pedro

Today's Daily Breeze reports that the "Giant Voice" public address system at the Los Angeles Air Force Base's Pacific Crest and Pacific Heights housing developments in San Pedro will be tested on Wednesday and Thursday, February 8th and 9th between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM. These housing complexes are located near the intersection of Western Avenue and 25th Street. Rancho Palos Verdes residents in the southeasterly portion of the City may hear these tests, but should not be alarmed.

Subject: PET ADOPTIONS SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 4TH AT HESSE PARK!

The City of Rancho Palos Verdes is partnering with the City of Los Angeles Harbor Animal Care Center to hold a pet adoption event tomorrow, February 4th, from 10 am to 3 pm at Hesse Park. The event will be held in the upper picnic area adjacent to the parking lot.

The public is invited to come and see the dogs and cats, and hopefully adopt a new pet. Please bring cash or check for adoption fees. You can view the Harbor Shelter web site by clicking on this link: http://www.laanimalservices.com/har_carecenter.htm

Subject: RPV's FREE PAPER SHREDDING DAY

Mark your calendars! The next EDCO sponsored paper/document shredding day for RPV residents is on Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 9 am to noon at RPV City Hall parking area. Similar to last year, electronics waste will also be collected at that time. This event is open and free to EDCO and UWS residential customers. You will receive more information about this event in the upcoming months.
