SELECTION PROCESS

All eligible applications will be reviewed in detail. Among the qualified candidates, the top candidates possessing the most desired qualifications and experience will be asked to participate in the selection process. The selection process may include a combination of an oral interview and supplemental testing in the form of a writing sample, skills test, etc. as appropriate. The City personnel staff will notify all applicants in writing of their application status.

All applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through the selection process. City appointments are contingent upon successful completion of a records and reference check, as well as verification of United States citizenship or legal authorization to be employed.

As new openings occur, the City posts the job announcements on the website. If you would like to be notified when employment opportunities become available, you may subscribe to Job Opportunities Listserv group, the City’s notification service via e-mail. Stopping by City Hall in person. City Hall is located at 30940 Hawthorne Boulevard. Office hours are 7:30 am to 5:30 pm from Monday through Thursday and 7:30 am to 4:30 pm on Friday. Applications are available in the front lobby.
