Trinity Lutheran Church hosts three concert series:

  • The Main Concert Series, Sundays at 4:00 p.m.,
     
  • The noontime "Bach's Lunch Recitals" at 12:15 p.m. on first Fridays from September or October through June, and
     
  • "The Previews" at 2:00 p.m. on third or fourth Saturdays from September through June (except December). From January through June, the concerts are repeated the next day on Beverly Hills' "Music In The Mansion" recital series in the the historic Beverly Hills Greystone Mansion.

KIPNIS-KUSHNER PIANO DUO

performs an all-Schubert program

World-renowned keyboardist Igor Kipnis, described by The New York Times as "Enlightened style incarnate," and Juilliard graduate Karen Kushner perform four-hand piano selections by Franz Schubert, the greatest composer for this genre.

8th Anniversary of the Organ Dedication

SEAN O'NEAL, organist

with LELAND VAIL, baritone

Now a junior at CSULB, Sean O'Neal, has been studying organ since the age of ten. A recipient of an E. Power Biggs Fellowship, he is First-Prize winner of AGO regional competitions and was featured on NPR's "Pipe Dreams."

Dr. Leland Vail holds degrees from CSULB and a DMA in conducting from the Claremont Graduate School. He has taught in the choral and vocal areas at California State University, Long Beach since 1976, where he conducts the select University Choir.

Professor of Organ & Church Music at St. Olaf College, John Ferguson, earned a D.M.A. from the Eastman School of Music. His work as an improviser and presenter of choral festivals across the country receive national acclaim, and he has composed many published organ and choral works.

SOUTH BAY CLASSIC ENSEMBLE
& Sinfonia Orchestra

Founded in 1997, the South Bay Classic Ensemble is one of the area's premiere professional choral organizations. The program will begin with Mozart's Concerto for Flute and Harp in C Major, K.299 performed by Sara Andon, flute; Krista Strader, harp; and David York, organ. The program continues with choral music by Allegri, Brahms, Gibson, and others. The group, which will consist of about 30 singers for this concert, is comprised by some of the finest singers around town, mostly from the L.A. Master Chorale and the L.A. Opera Chorus.
