The Western Museum of Flight teaches about the history of aviation. The Wright Brothers were the first to fly. I saw a model of their airplane from 1903. The pilot had to lay on his stomach, holding wires. The first flight was only 13 seconds and traveled 120 feet. Second, I learned that there are three kinds of airplanes: tri-wing, bi-wing, and mono-wing airplanes. A very fun activity was to sit in the cockpit of the Spirit of Seventy Six and a Freedom Fighter jet. Each student also got to sit in a simulator and practice turning the rudder and the elevator. I learned that every pilot must understand lift, gravity, thrust, and drag. My visit to the Western Museum of Flight taught me many facts about aviation.
