Introducing...( World War II )

 
World War II started when Germany invaded Poland, in September 1939. When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor at 8:04AM on December 7th, 1941 the United States declared war and got on the side of England, France, Russia and China (the Allied forces) against Germany, Japan and Italy (the Axis forces). Air power was used to the fullest extent on both sides. The famous planes used by both sides are described on the following pages of this lesson. Some of these planes are still flying in the 1990's . Some are in static displays in various aviation museums. (Pictured Above: left- Stearman Trainer, right- B25 Bomber)
