The Different Changes ( ... )

After World War II, it was obvious that jet engines were replacing the old piston engines dating back to the Wright brothers. Captured German data on jet engine sweepback wings and the new guided missiles forced the industry to design better and faster planes. The classic fighter at that time was the North American F-86 Sabre fighter jet. Commercial air travel became very popular and more economical with the development of the jet engines and new wing shapes. The first jet powered airliner was the Boeing 707. In less than 100 years, aviation has progressed from the short hops by the Wright flyer to soaring across the ocean at twice the speed of sound in the world's most advanced airliner, the Concord. The following planes represent each milestone in the advancement in Military and Civil Aviation. (Pictured Above left to right: Lockheed Constillation, Beoing 777, Lockheed Venture Star)
