To Malaga Cove Homeowners Members and Friends

We invite you to join or renew your membership in the Malaga Cove Homeowners Association.

For the last two decades, the MCHA has been active in promoting the welfare of the community, maintaining it as a beautiful and desirable place to live and presenting effectively our views to the City Council on issues as varied as traffic and safety to noise and trash.

Highlights of the past years include:

  • Hosting the successful pre-holiday party November 2005 at Malaga Cove Library. It was open to all homeowners of the Malaga Cove community, and attendance was around 200. Marjeanne Blinn prepared a slide show of old photographs of Malaga Cove in the early days. As everyone enjoyed wines and hors d’oeuveres from Chez Allez, our goal of having “neighbors meet neighbors” was achieved and we look forward to hosting this party again in 2006, 4 to 6:30 pm. Again the Malaga Cove Library will be the location.
  • Maintaining contact with the School Board on issues related to the future of Malaga Cove School and its leases to outside parties.
  • Continuing the City Observers program where MCHA board members check City Council agendas as well as those of the Planning Commission, the Parklands Committee and the Traffic and Safety Committee. We provide a presence at meetings where issues of importance to Malaga Cove are discussed.
  • Providing a Newsletter to update you about MCHA activities and important community news.
  • Providing an Election Candidates Forum during election years.
  • Funding one of the summer Concerts in Farnham Martin Park. Last summer “Benise,” playing modern flamenco, was well attended.
  • Forming a subcommittee to put together a Home and Garden Award program. We welcome non-board members on this committee or you may have an idea for a new one.

While we certainly request and encourage your active involvement in the Association, your membership alone provides us with an important resource. We urge you to request by email an application blank and send in your annual dues of $35. Your interests and concerns are our interests and concerns. Our board and its members are always available to listen and respond. We promise to personally get back to you, so do speak up!
