Portuguese Bend Community Association
Minutes of the Board Meeting
3 January 2005

Present: Parks, Himelwright, Porter and Kelly.

Minutes of 6 December were approved as submitted.

Treasurer’s report: Treasurer’s report for December received and approved.

Correspondence: None * see Old Business

PW West: No report.

PW East: Weather precluded asphalt work but some roads were cleaned.

Access Control: Peppertree gate was hit, the shaft bent, but it is working.

RS W: There was a death in the company contracted to do the improvements at the Narcissa Gate. Soon to be back on schedule. Complaints were noted about dogs being ill after spraying for weeds along the roadsides. The gardener will be questioned as to the product being used or no sprays will be applied. Mud washing down on upper Narcissa stems from horse corrals along the uphill side. It was suggested the equestrian committee be contacted, as this seems to be happening as a result of lack of maintenance on the property. Himelwright will contact the representative for the Hon property if needed, though runoff there has been better controlled. Bids to paint the gates were submitted: $1550 for the Narcissa gate and $ 420 for the Peppertree gate.

President’s report: None

City liaison / RDA: nothing to report

Old Business: Received papers for the files from Mike Chiles regarding water diversion in Altimira Canyon.

New Business: Parks will be contacting our insurance agent to see if we have adequate coverage for general liability. The bids for the gate painting were accepted and it was moved and passed to proceed when the weather allows.

Meeting adjourned at 9:05 pm

Respectfully submitted,
C. Jones, Secretary
