Portuguese Bend Community Association
Minutes of the Board Meeting
7 March 2005

Called to Order: 8:00 pm
Present: Parks, Himelwright, Porter, Cooper and Kelly.

Minutes of 8 February were approved as submitted.

Treasurer’s report: Treasurer’s report for February received and approved.

Correspondence: Bill Griffin sent a letter suggesting that gate access at the Narcissa Gate is narrow, and could be widened. Tim Kelly will contact him as to his specific ideas.

Roads & Roadsides West: The olive tree for the Narcissa gate should be planted in the coming week or two. The painting of the gates is proceeding around the rain. Dan Pinkham will supervise the final coats of antiquing or patina. Cooper has been grading at the end of Narcissa, which has helped rain runoff significantly. The rain and rocks are beating up the culvert on Narcissa across from the Bauer’s. Repair methods will be looked into. Specifically, gunnite companies will be contacted. Street sweeping will be done 1-2 times per year. Can do it after cleaning up Peppertree.

Roads & Roadsides East: Himelwright patched a few holes temporarily. Tangerine and Limetree need major work as part of a safety issue (the rain is undermining edges of the roads). One bid has been received for Peppertree repaving, 2 more bids will be presented at the next meeting.

Access Control: Lamps at the Peppertree Gate are in need of repair.

President’s report: None

City liaison / RDA: nothing to report

Old Business: In response to suggestions that a Task Force look at some of the bigger and long term projects needed for the community, a Budget Workshop will take place March 22, 7:00 pm at Ladera Linda.

New Business: Budget Workshop March 22, 7 pm, Ladera Linda.

Meeting adjourned at 8:55 pm

Respectfully submitted,
C. Jones, Secretary
