Minutes of the Board Meeting

Called to Order: 7 p.m. by Porter

Present: Porter, Burt, Himelwright, Kelly

Minutes of April 7 adopted as revised.

Treasurer’s report: Treasurer’s report forApril was received.

Correspondence: A request was made by a member that the road to 3 Roseapple be re-established.

After 4 years of service, letter of resignation was received from the Secretary/Treasurer.

Roads and Public Works East: a bid was received for asphalt work on West Pomegranate. There is additional work to be done on lower Peppertree, Narcissa and in other small areas throughout.

Roads and Public Works West: - see above

Roadsides West & East: New sprinkler heads being installed at the gate lot provide better coverage and use less water. Lumber materials are needed to fix the benches. It was suggested we contact Crenshaw Lumber and see if our non-profit status might be useful in obtaining supplies. Still need water hookup at Peppertree gate.

Access Control: : Need to reactivate the camera at Peppertree. Investigating having it powered remotely from the other camera set up at Narcissa. Additional cameras may be installed at the same time bringing the total to 6 cameras, 3 at each gate. Signs need to be designed and ordered to prevent perimeter access into the community through the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve.

President’s report: Leanne Twidwell is working on getting a new website for the community to keep our members better informed.

City liaison / RDA: : Member Bob Maxwell reported on the history of communication with the City regarding the drainage through Altimira Canyon.

City Councilman Steve Wolowicz was in attendance and reported on two items of immediate interest to the community: the acquisition of additional property at Upper Filiorum and the land movement issues affecting properties on Cherryhill. Both of these topics are slated for closed session discussion, so limited information is available at this time. He then spoke about the various projects the City is currently working on throughout the peninsula including but not limited to the Coastal Vision Plan, affordable housing, Tactical Plan for 2008, Terranea progress, Trump golf course progress, Leadership Breakfasts and Budget workshops to be held soon, development at Golden Cove, the Point View project, the impact development in RHE may have on RPV citizens, and many other border issues. The city is encouraging neighborhoods to pursue underground utilities. He listened to discussion of our expressed concern for the drainage in Altimira Canyon and of our expressed concern for the outcome of the issues with the homes on Cherryhill that are on the ocean side of PV Drive South

Old Business:

New Business: : It was moved seconded and passed unanimously to accept the bid for asphalt work on Pomegranate. It was moved, seconded and passed unanimously to send flowers of condolence to three members of the community for their recent losses. Insurance proposals were received and the motion to accept the proposal for Property Insurance was passed unanimously. The motion to accept the proposal for $2m per occurrence and $2M aggregate for General Liability was passed unanimously. .
