Mayor Pro Tempore Ellen Perkins

The Honorable Ellen Perkins was elected to City Council in 2007.  Mayor Pro Tem Perkins has been a devoted contributor to the City and Peninsula. Her City government experience began as a Parklands Committee member. Prior to her involvement with the City, she served on the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District Board of Education for twelve years.  She was a member of the Board of Directors of the Palos Verdes Peninsula  Land Conservancy and has also been involved with St. Peter’s by the Sea, the Peninsula Education Foundation, the Palos Verdes Peninsula Council of PTAs and the Peninsula Chapter of  National Charity League.

Mayor Pro Tem Perkins has lived in Palos Verdes Estates for 28 years with her husband Fraser, and raised four children through the  Palos Verdes public schools. Mayor Pro Tem Perkins is an attorney and hopes her legal knowledge and perspective will prove to be beneficial on the Council. She graduated with a B.S. from the University of Redlands and received a J.D. from Loyola Law School, magna cum laude.  After earning her certificate in college counseling from UCLA, she currently works as an educational consultant, providing college advising services to high school students and their families. 

During her tenure on the Council, Mayor Pro Tem Perkins is committed to preserving and enhancing the special attributes that Palos Verdes Estates has to offer, keeping our city safe, promoting parklands and open space, and ensuring continued fiscal responsibility.
