Canyons Ecological Reserve Temporary
Moratorium on Trail Use

On November 20, 2007, the City Council established a temporary moratorium on trail uses within the Canyons Ecological Reserve to allow the re-establishment of the protected habitat in this area. The temporary moratorium restricts access by all user groups (pedestrians, equestrians, and bicyclists) to certain areas within the Canyons Ecological Reserve with the exception of the fire roads and the area adjacent to the Forrestal Ecological Reserve.  Click here to view a map of the trails currently permitted to use at the Canyons Ecological Reserve.   The temporary moratorium is in effect until further direction by the City Council at its upcoming meeting on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 9:30 am at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center (PVIC).
