SUBJECT:NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR LADERA LINDA PARK PLAYGROUND IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

RECOMMENDATION:

  1. Accept the work as complete
  2. Authorize the City Clerk to file the notice of completion with County of Recorder: and if no claims are filed 35 days after recordation notify the surety company to exonerate the Payment and Performance Bond with Ryco Construction Incorporation..
  3. Authorize the Director of Public Works to release 10% retention payment to Ryco Construction Incorporation 35 days after recordation of the Notice of Completion contingent upon no claims being filed against the contractor..

BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS

On June 18, 2002, City Council awarded a contract to Ryco Construction for Ladera

Linda Park Playground Improvement Project. Pursuant to the approved contract, the work has been satisfactorily completed at the following cost:

$42,443.00

Change Order

$1,596.25

Total Construction Cost

$40,179.25

FISCAL IMPACT

The recommended action will have no fiscal impact. This project was funded by the Quimby and the Solid Waste Fund.

CONCLUSION

Ryco Construction Company, Inc. has successfully completed all work in accordance with the plans and specifications. Therefore, the work should be accepted as complete and a Notice of Completion filed.
