TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS FROM: SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE ANALYST DATE: APRIL 1, 2003 SUBJECT: CLAIM AGAINST THE CITY BY VEEDA DAVIS RECOMMENDATION Reject the claim and direct staff to notify the claimant. BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION The claimant alleges vehicle damage due to street work conducted near the claimant’s parked car along Via Borica on September 25, 2002. The work crew was not affiliated with the City but possibly associated with Verizon or another utility company. The claim is for up to $2,290. A copy of the claim is attached. The City’s Claims Administrator, Carl Warren & Company has advised the City to reject the claim. FISCAL IMPACT None associated with this report. PREPARED BY APPROVED BY |
