SUBJECT: CLAIM AGAINST THE CITY BY WHITCRAFT FAMILY

RECOMMENDATION

Reject the claim and direct staff to notify the claimant.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

The claimants, Daniel, Marlene and Mia Whitcraft, allege real property damage occurred on November 12, 2002 as the result of flooding from storm drains in the Klondike Canyon Geologic Hazard Abatement District. The claim is for an undisclosed amount for property damages, medical expenses, living expenses and pain and suffering. A copy of the claim is attached.

The City’s Claims Administrator, Carl Warren & Company has advised the City to reject the claim.
