RECOMMENDATION

That the City Council accept the Gifts for Parks donations and direct staff to prepare letters for the Mayor’s signature expressing the Council’s thanks and appreciation.

BACKGROUND

The City’s Gifts for Parks program, established in 1982, provides a means by which interested individuals, organizations, and/or businesses may contribute funds, merchandise, or labor for the enhancement of the City’s Recreation and Parks facilities and programs. Donations, as prescribed by law, are tax deductible as charitable contributions.

ANALYSIS

The City has received the following donations designated for:

    • $1,500 from Charles Abbott Associates, Inc.
    • $1,000 from SA Associates
    • $300 from Peninsula Point Homeowners Association
    • $100 from Del Cerro Homeowners Association
    • $100 from Eastview Townhouse OA
    • $100 from Miraverde Homeowners Association
    • $100 from Rancho Palos Verdes Estates
    • $100 from Upper Basswood Homes Association
    • Wine at 30th Anniversary Dinner & Dance from Willdan
    • Two $30.00 gift certificates from The Original Red Onion
    • Provided 30th Anniversary T-shirts at cost from Alan Greenberg of Graphicprints
    • Historical documents and photographs from Frances Dunn
    • Waste Management donated in-kind services for the City's 30th Anniversary Community Barbecue & Picnic

It is recommended that the City accept these donations with thanks to all donors.
