SUBJECT: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO COMPLETE THE LOT LINE ADJUSTMENT AT 30678 PALOS VERDES DRIVE EAST
Adopt Resolution No. 2004- ; Authorizing the City Manager to complete a Lot Line Adjustment between the property owned by John and Minnie Smith located at 2809 San Ramon Drive and the City-owned property located at 30678 Palos Verdes Drive East.
The City Council previously authorized staff to approach John and Minnie Smith, the property owners at 2809 San Ramon Drive, about adjusting the west side property line between their property and the City-owned property at 30678 Palos Verdes Drive East in order to correct some existing landscaping and building encroachments. Mr. and Mrs. Smith have signed the Lot Line Adjustment Agreement, and staff is seeking Council authorization to allow the City Manager to complete the conveyance of the approximately 847 square feet area from the Smith’s lot to the City-owned lot.

RESOLUTION NO. 2004 -
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO COMPLETE A LOT LINE ADJUSTMENT BETWEEN THE PROPERTY OWNED BY JOHN AND MINNIE SMITH LOCATED AT 2809 SAN RAMON DRIVE AND THE CITY-OWNED PROPERTY LOCATED AT 30678 PALOS VERDES DRIVE EAST
WHEREAS, on April 23, 2001, the City purchased a single family residence located at 30678 Palos Verdes Drive East in order to facilitate the completion of the San Ramon Landslide Stabilization and Drainage Improvement Project; and,
WHEREAS, a subsequent land survey of the property revealed that some of the existing landscaping and building improvements on the City’s property encroach onto the adjacent property located at 2809 San Ramon Drive, which is owned by John and Minnie Smith; and,
WHEREAS, John and Minnie Smith have signed a Lot Line Adjustment Agreement, agreeing to convey approximately 847 square feet of their property to the City through a Lot Line Adjustment Permit and Variance, which will correct the existing landscaping and building encroachments.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The City Council authorizes the City Manager to act as the agent of the City to execute and submit all documents including, but not limited to, applications, agreements, amendments, payment requests and so forth, which may be necessary to complete the lot line adjustment and variance applications, as well as the purchase and conveyance of the aforementioned portion of the property located at 2809 San Ramon Drive to the property located at 30678 Palos Verdes Drive East and to record the grant deed and the lot line adjustment with the Office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles.
