SUBJECT: STATUS OF CONSTRUCTION OF PALOS VERDES DRIVE SOUTH BY THE TRUMP ORGANIZATION

RECOMMENDATION

Receive an update from The Trump Organization on the construction schedule for Palos Verdes Drive South.

DISCUSSION

This item was placed on the agenda at the request of Council member Long.

As part of the development of the Ocean Trails property, The Trump Organization is required to reconstruct Palos Verdes Drive South from La Rotonda Drive to Schooner Drive. Construction of the roadway from La Rotonda Drive to Conqueror Drive began in December 2002 and will soon be completed. The portion of roadway from Conqueror Drive to Schooner Drive will be constructed as part of the development of Tract 50666.

The initial construction schedule for the portion Palos Verdes Drive South currently underway called for construction to be completed in 11 months, or November 2003. Delays have been encountered. The current schedule calls for roadway construction to be completed in April 2004, and the landscaping activities for the center median to be completed in July 2004.
