SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT OF CHAIR TO THE EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS COMMITTEE
RECOMMENDATION
Appoint a chair for the Emergency Preparedness Committee.
INTRODUCTION
With the completion of interviews of the two candidates interested in serving as chair of the Emergency Preparedness Committee, the City Council can now make that appointment.
BACKGROUND
The Emergency Preparedness Committee is now a seven member committee appointed by the City Council in June 2003. Originally, the committee had eight members, however, the chair of the committee was appointed to the Planning Commission in January 2004. The Committee has two co-chairs (Mel Hughes and Richard Smith) and both of them have applied to be interviewed for the position of chair. Their interviews were scheduled for an Adjourned Regular Meeting on April 6th at 6:45 P.M.
CONCLUSION
With the completion of the interviews for chair of the Emergency Preparedness Committee, Council can now make a decision on who that person will be.
