SUBJECT: CLAIM AGAINST THE CITY BY JEAN-PAUL MENARD

RECOMMENDATION

Reject the claim and direct staff to notify the claimant.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

The claimant alleges a hive of Africanized bees attacked a hired worker while clearing hillside brush on the claimant’s property. The claim is for reimbursement of medical expenses and bee removal services in the amount of $1,013.70.

A copy of the claim is attached.

The City’s Claims Administrator, Carl Warren & Company, has advised the City to reject the claim.
