TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS FROM: ASSISTANT TO THE CITY MANAGER DATE: JUNE 1, 2004 SUBJECT: CLAIM AGAINST THE CITY BY KATHY IZU RECOMMENDATION Reject the claim and direct staff to notify the claimant. BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION The claimant alleges personal injury as a result of exiting her vehicle on Lomo Drive where there was apparently a large pothole on April 19, 2003. The claim is for an unspecified amount in excess of $500,000. A copy of the claim is attached. The City’s Claims Administrator, Carl Warren & Company, has advised the City to reject the claim.
