SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES, AMENDING RESOLUTION 2004-45, THE BUDGET APPROPRIATION FOR FY04-05, TO INCREASE THE CITY MANAGER BUDGET FOR PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL SERVICES
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2004- , amending Resolution No. 2004-45, the Budget Appropriation for FY04-05, to increase the City Manager budget for professional and technical services.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
The City of Rancho Palos Verdes is part owner of an Aircraft Tracking device located in the City of Hermosa Beach. The device has been ineffective in providing timely information regarding aircraft identification, altitude and flight path since it can only be read by an on-site operator. Through Palos Verdes on the Net an Internet access power link has been arranged to bring the read-outs into our City Hall. The cost of the link is $136.80 per month. The annual cost of the link is $1,641. Funds to support this service were inadvertently left out of the second year of the current two-year budget.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Authorizing funds for the aircraft-tracking link will reduce the General Fund Reserves by $1,641during the current fiscal year. A Statement of Estimated General Fund Reserves is attached for the Council’s information.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS
VERDES, AMENDING RESOLUTION 2004-45, THE BUDGET APPROPRIATION FOR FY04-05, TO INCREASE THE CITY MANAGER BUDGET FOR PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, Section 3.32 of the Rancho Palos Verdes Municipal Code provides that all expenditures in excess of budgeted allocations must be by supplemental appropriation of the City Council: and
WHEREAS, on June 1, 2004, the City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes adopted Resolution 2004-45, approving a spending plan and authorizing a budget appropriation for FY04-05: and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to continue the aircraft-monitoring program through an Internet power link to Hermosa Beach and the annual cost of the Internet power link is $1,641.
BE IT, THEREFORE, RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES:
The following adjustments be made to the FY04-05 budget:
Increase the General fund budget as follows:
City Manager #101-1002-411-32-00 Professional/Technical $1,641
