SUBJECT: PLANNING COMMISSION APPOINTMENT RECOMMENDATION
Make an appointment to the Planning Commission to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Sam Van Wagner; said term of office until January 2006.
DISCUSSION
This matter was before the Council at the September 7th meeting and at that time the Council decided to conduct a full recruitment to fill this vacancy. As a result of the City’s recruitment efforts ten candidates applied for appointment. The applications received from those candidates were submitted to the Council along with an agenda for an adjourned regular meeting scheduled for 6:30 P.M. on this date, at which time Council could interview the candidates.
CONCLUSION
A vacancy exists on the seven-member Planning Commission and the Council has conducted interviews of those residents who have expressed an interest in being appointed. Council can now make an appointment.
