SUBJECT: FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
RECOMMENDATION
Approve a list of future City Council agenda items and establish a priority for hearing them.
BACKGROUND
At their meeting of November 3, 2004 the City council considered a list of ten issues that were been identified over the previous twelve months by various Council members as items they wish to have agendized for consideration by the City Council. Primarily for reason of availability of time, none of these items have been scheduled for an agenda. The items are as follows:
- Hear Chamber Presentation for Promoting Business (Wolowicz)
- Consider an Economic Development Strategy (Wolowicz)
- Develop a Plan for Protection of City Property/Rights of Way (Long)
- Consider Forming a Peninsula Cities Development Code Committee (Long)
- Consider Reestablishing the View Restoration Commission (Long)
- Consider Establishing a Board of Administrative Appeals (Long)
- Consider an Automatic Emergency Phone Dialing System (Wolowicz)
- Consider a Feasibility Study for Wireless Internet (Wolowicz)
- Consider No Smoking Ordinance for Beach Areas (Long)
- Consider a Policy for Awarding and Presenting Proclamations (Gardiner)
No action was taken to prioritize the list or schedule any item for consideration.
DISCUSSION
The City Council directed the City Manager to compile a "super list" of future agenda items for Council review and input. The list was to be scheduled for a Council agenda when input from Council members was been received and prioritized. At this time no member of the City Council has provided any input on prioritizing the "super list."
Attached is a current list of those items that staff has identified as "Future Agenda Items." Included on the list are items that come before the City Council from the Planning Commission, items that have been identified by the Council for consideration,
items identified by individual Council members and items identified by staff. The Council may wish to add or delete items from the list and prioritize/schedule the remaining items for future City Council agendas.
