SUBJECT: CITY MAINTENANCE CONTRACT EXTENSIONS
RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve a one-year extension for FY 05 – 06 to Bell Building Maintenance for Building Maintenance, Bennett Landscape for Median Maintenance, TruGreen Landcare for Roadside Maintenance, and TruGreen Landcare for Park and Trails Maintenance
DISCUSSION
The city has entered into approximately 15 contracts for various maintenance services. In general these contracts have a term of three-years with the possibility of three one-year extensions by mutual agreement. At this time four contracts are subject to possible extension.
Based upon company performance staff recommends that each of the four contracts be extended for an additional year. For both of TruGreen Landcare’s contracts this will be the first extension. For Bell Building Maintenance this will be the second extension. For Bennett Landscape this will be the third and final one-year extension.
FISCAL IMPACT
In accordance with the contract there will be a price increase for each of the contracts in the amount of 4.8% equal to the Producer Price Index for Los Angeles / Long Beach. There are adequate funds identified in the adopted FY 05 – 06 Budget for these services.
