SUBJECT: NOTICE OF COMPLETION OF ROOFING REPLACEMENT PROJECT AT CITY HALL AND RYAN PARK

RECOMMENDATION:
BACKGROUND
On April 5 2005, the City Council awarded a construction contract to Lavey Roofing Services, Inc. for the replacement of roofs at City Hall and Ryan Park. The authorized construction budget for this project was $131,050 and includes the following amounts in each of the applicable project expenditure categories:

· Inspection Services $ 2,000
· Containment Services for IT Server Rooms $ 2,000
Total Budget: $131,050
The replacement of these roofs was completed on June 22, 2005 at a cost of $114,300 as summarized below:

Total Budget: $112,966
*The original contract amount included for the potential replacement of an estimated 2,000 square foot of roof deck. During construction, when the deck was exposed, we realized that only 750 square foot of decking/fascia needed replacing.
CONCLUSION
Lavey Roofing Services, Inc. has successfully completed all work in accordance with the contract documents. Therefore, the work should be accepted as complete and the attached Notice of Completion filed.
FISCAL IMPACT
The recommended actions will have no fiscal impact.
