SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT OF EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS COMMITTEE MEMBER
RECOMMENDATION
Appoint Shari Weiner to the Emergency Preparedness Committee with a term of office until June 21, 2009.
DISCUSSION
On June 7, 2005, four terms expired on the Emergency Preparedness Commission. After conducting a recruitment and interviewing the candidates, on June 21, 2005, the Council re-appointed Tim McCully and appointed Charlotte Iseda and Timothy Weiner to fill two of the three remaining vacancies. During the interviews, the Council requested that the appointees to work with the other Committee members to recruit additional applicants interested in filling the remaining vacancy on the Committee. As a result of that request, Shari Weiner submitted an application and was interviewed by Council on September 20, 2005. Staff recommends that Council appoint Ms. Weiner to the position this evening.
