SUBJECT: CLAIM AGAINST THE CITY BY CENTURY NATIONAL INSURANCE (ANZA RENTS TENTS)
RECOMMENDATION
Reject the claim and direct staff to notify the claimant.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Century National Insurance filed a claim on behalf of its insured for vehicular damage allegedly sustained when the insured driver’s vehicle struck a tree limb while driving northbound near the 2000 block of Palos Verdes Drive West (within the jurisdiction of the City of Palos Verdes Estates) on June 8, 2005. The claim amount is for $5,422.77. A copy of the claim is attached.
The City’s Claims Administrator, Carl Warren and Company, has advised the City to reject the claim.
