SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT OF BOARD MEMBERS TO THE ABALONE COVE LANDSLIDE ABATEMENT DISTRICT
RECOMMENDATION
Appoint Robert Douglas and Mary Sheridan to full four-year terms of office on the Abalone Cove Landslide Abatement District board until September 2009.
DISCUSSION
The Abalone Cove Landslide Abatement District was scheduled to conduct an election on November 8, 2005 to fill two expiring seats on the board. As of the close of the nomination period, the only candidates that submitted nomination papers were the incumbents: Robert Douglas and Mary Sheridan. Because there were not more candidates than offices to be filled, the Elections Code permits the cancellation of the election and the appointment of the nominees to the Board.
