SUBJECT: JOINT HOST FOR CALIFORNIA CONTRACT CITIES ASSOCIATION GENERAL MEETING
The City is a member of the California Contract Cities Association, which has the practice of rotating the responsibility for hosting the general quarterly meetings among the member cities. The Cities of Lomita and Rolling Hills Estates have asked whether the City of Rancho Palos Verdes would be interested in joint-hosting the June 2006 meeting. The host cities would be responsible for organizing the dinner meeting arrangements and subsidizing a portion of the expenses. Should the City Council agree to joint host the meeting, the City will front a third of the total dinner meeting expense, which may be up to $2,500. After the meeting, staff estimates the City will be reimbursed for approximately 75% of its share. Therefore the estimated net cost is approximately $625.
The California Contract Cities Association general meeting is an unbudgeted item and staff requests Councilís approval for a budget appropriation of $2,500 from the General Fund Reserves to the Community Outreach Programís FY05-06 Budget. Attached to this staff report is the Statement of Estimated General Fund Reserves.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES, AMENDING RESOLUTION 2005-53, THE BUDGET APPROPRIATION FOR FY05-06, TO INCREASE THE COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,500.
WHEREAS, Section 3.32 of the Rancho Palos Verdes Municipal Code provides that all expenditures in excess of budgeted allocations must be by supplemental appropriation of the City Council;
WHEREAS, on May 31, 2005, the City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes adopted Resolution 2005-53, approving a spending plan and authorizing a budget appropriation for FY05-06;
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to share the responsibilities and expenses of hosting the June 2006 Southern California Contract Cities Association general dinner meeting with the Cities of Rolling Hills Estates and Lomita; and
WHEREAS, a budget increase of $2,500 in the General Fund is necessary to authorize expenditures for the aforementioned proposal.
BE IT, THEREFORE, RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES:
Section One. The following increase be made to the General Fund FY05-06 budget:
