FROM: CITY MANAGER DATE: FEBRUARY 21, 2006 SUBJECT: FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS RECOMMENDATIONReview the list of future City Council agenda items prioritized by the City Council and direct Staff to agendize the highest priority items within the next two months. BACKGROUND At their Tactical Planning meeting on February 4, 2006 the City Council considered a list of future agenda items made up of policy issues raised by Councilmembers over the past few months. The list was presented for consideration and prioritization by the Council. DISCUSSION Each City Council member has noted his personal priority for the issues identified at the February 4, 2006 Council meeting and the "votes" have been included in the attached Agenda Items Proposed by Councilmembers. Based on the City Manager’s interpretation of the Council’s interest, only three items seem to be clearly identified by the majority of Councilmembers as "high priority." Those three items are:
Items identified as "low priority" or "not interested" by a majority of Councilmembers include:
Five agenda items fell into a "medium priority" category. Those four items are:
Several items did not have enough votes to reliably classify into a high, medium or low priority. These items include:
Four items have already been considered and have been previously scheduled for Council consideration. They are:
