1. ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 2006 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES, AMENDING RESOLUTION 2005-53, THE BUDGET APPROPRIATION FOR FY05-06, FOR A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT TO THE CITY'S GENERAL FUND AND WATER QUALITY FLOOD PROTECTION FUND 2. ADOPT RESOLUTION NO 2006 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES, AMENDING RESOLUTION 2006-41, THE BUDGET APPROPRIATION FOR FY06-07, FOR A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT TO THE CITY'S GENERAL FUND AND WATER QUALITY FLOOD PROTECTION FUND BACKGROUND At the meeting of June 6, 2006 the City Council approved a revised appraisal of $900,000 for the property located at 6359 Tarragon Road. The subject property is privately owned by Mr. Carmiel Cohen and is necessary to construct both interim and permanent improvements to control drainage from McCarrell Canyon. DISCUSSION The adoption of the attached resolutions will implement the action that was taken by the City Council at the last meeting. The final cost of acquiring the property will be determined either by a negotiated purchase or by a jury in connection with an eminent domain trial. Submitted, Les Evans, City Manager Attachments: Resolutions approving the budget adjustment RESOLUTION NO. 2006- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS WHEREAS, Section 3.32 of the Rancho Palos Verdes Municipal Code provides that all expenditures in excess of budgeted allocations must be by supplemental appropriation of the City Council: and WHEREAS, on May 31, 2005, the City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes adopted Resolution 2005-53, approving a spending plan and authorizing a budget appropriation for FY05-06: and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to purchase land to facilitate the McCarrell Canyon storm drain project, and the City Council desires that the FY05-06 budget be adjusted. BE IT, THEREFORE, RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES: The following increases be made to the FY05-06 budget: General Fund Transfer Out For Land Acquisition #101-6000-491-91-00 $900,000 PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED THE 20th DAY OF JUNE 2006. ___________________________ ______________________ State of California ) I, CAROLYNN PETRU, City Clerk of The City of Rancho Palos Verdes, hereby certify that the above Resolution No. 2006- was duly and regularly passed and adopted by the said City Council at regular meeting thereof held on June 20, 2006. _____________________________ RESOLUTION NO. 2006- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS WHEREAS, Section 3.32 of the Rancho Palos Verdes Municipal Code provides that all expenditure adjustments in excess of budgeted allocations must be by supplemental appropriation of the City Council: and WHEREAS, on June 6, 2006, the City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes adopted Resolution 2006-41, approving a spending plan and authorizing a budget appropriation for FY06-07: and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to purchase land during FY05-06 to facilitate the McCarrell Canyon storm drain project, the land purchase appropriation is included in the FY06-07 budget, and the City Council desires that the FY06-07 budget be adjusted.
