SUBJECT: CLAIM AGAINST THE CITY BY KUMUN VAKIL

RECOMMENDATION
Reject the claim and direct staff to notify the claimant.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The claimant alleges improper drainage from the hillside below the County’s Los Verdes Golf Course caused storm water and debris to flood part of his home and garage at 7105 Via Del Mar on February 26, 2005. The claim is for real property damages in the amount of $1,330. A copy of the claim is attached.

It is the City’s understanding that the claimant has also filed a claim with the County of Los Angeles.

The City’s Claims Administrator, Carl Warren and Company, has advised the City to reject the claim.
