SUBJECT: NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR CITY HALL PARKING LOT RESURFACING PROJECT
1. Accept the work as complete; and
2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder; and if no claims are filed within 35 days after recordation, and upon the contractor posting an acceptable warranty bond, notice the surety company to exonerate the Payment and Performance bonds; and
3. Authorize the Director of Public works to release the 10% retention payment, to Hardy and Harper, Inc., 35 days after recordation of the Notice of Completion by the County Recorder contingent upon no claims being filed on the project, and the contractor posting an acceptable warranty bond.
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS
The project consisted of resurfacing of the City Hall front parking lot. The contract for the project was awarded to Hardy and Harper Inc. on April 4, 2006. Since that time, all work has been satisfactorily completed.
The final project costs are as follows:
The recommended action will have no fiscal impact. This project was budgeted in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Fund and Gas Tax fund.
Hardy and Harper, Inc. has successfully completed all work in accordance with the plans and specifications. Therefore, the work should be accepted as complete and a Notice of Completion filed.
