RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council accept the Gifts for Parks donations and direct staff to prepare letters for the Mayor’s signature expressing the Council’s appreciation.
BACKGROUND
The City’s Gifts for Parks program, established in 1982, provides a means by which interested individuals, organizations, and/or businesses may contribute funds, merchandise, or labor for the enhancement of the City’s Recreation and Parks facilities and programs. Donations, as prescribed by law, are tax deductible as charitable contributions.
ANALYSIS
The City has received the following donations designated for:
PVIC DONATIONS
- $45,000 from the Major Family Foundation in sponsorship of the Interactive Gray Whale Exhibit
- $10,000 from Ken and Betty Riedman in sponsorship of an entire row of the PVIC Amphitheater
- $2,500 from the Rolling Hills Estate Womans Club for one 6” x 8” bronze PVIC Amphitheater plaque

- $2,500 from Alice and Robert Toole for one PVIC Whale Walk recognition plaque
- $2,500 from Betty and Ken Riedman for one PVIC Whale Walk recognition plaque
- $2,500 from Bob and Aileen Bevan for one PVIC Whale Walk recognition plaque
- $2,500 from Cathy and George Dumitrov-Shweiri for one PVIC Whale Walk recognition plaque

It is recommended that the City accept these donations with thanks to all donors.
