SUBJECT: CLAIM AGAINST THE CITY BY SUSAN BROOKS

RECOMMENDATION
Reject the claim and direct staff to notify the claimant.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The claimant alleges the roots from a Pepper tree located at 3424 Corinna Drive broke and invaded the sewer lateral line at the joint connection between the sewer lateral line and main line. The sewer lateral line for 3419 Corinna Drive collapsed on August 17, 2006. The claim is in the amount of $5,107 for sewer lateral line repair expenses. A copy of the claim is attached.

The City’s Claims Administrator, Carl Warren and Company, has reviewed this claim and advised the City to reject the claim.
