PUBLIC HEARINGS:

1.         NCCP Portuguese Bend Nature Preserve – Public Use Master Plan (PUMP) Preserve Trails Plan (Mihranian)
Recommendation: 1) Accept the name for the greater NCCP Preserve as the Portuguese Bend Nature Preserve and accept the names, as recommended by the PUMP Committee, for the ten ecological reserves (sub-areas) that make up the greater Preserve; 2) Review the PUMP Committee’s recommended trail routes and trail uses, as identified in the proposed Public Trails Plan, and if deemed acceptable, approve the Public Trails Plan for each of the following ten ecological reserves (ER’s); 3) Review, and if deemed acceptable, approve the trail routes located within the Preserve identified as segments of the City’s Palos Verdes Loop Trail system and the City’s Coastal Access Trails system; and, 4) Provide Staff with direction on whether to extend, end or modify the current temporary trail use “time-out” that applies to certain areas of the Canyons Ecological Reserve to prevent further degradation of habitat.

ADJOURNMENT: Adjourn to Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 6:30 P.M. to interview candidates for Chair of the Planning Commission, Finance Advisory Committee and Emergency Preparedness Committee in the Fireside Room at Hesse Park.
