REGULAR NEW BUSINESS: 

1.         FY 08-09 City Grant Requests (Petru)
Recommendation: Should funding levels be increased for two current grant recipients and should new grants be awarded to the Los Angeles Harbor College Student Emergency Assistance Program and the Palos Verdes High School Sea Kings Fall Sports Poster?

2.         Tactical Plan for 2008 (Petru)
Recommendation: Set goals for the two-year period ending in December 2009 and develop specific strategies, with timelines, for achieving them.

(AT SOME POINT IN THE AFTERNOON, THE MEETING WILL BE RECESSED FOR A LUNCH BREAK.)

3.         2008 Five-Year Financial Model –1st Draft (McLean)
Recommendation: 1) Receive and file the first draft of the 2008 Five-Year Financial Model; and, 2) Provide direction to staff regarding revenue and expenditure assumptions and trends.

4.         Budget Policy Issues for FY 08-09 (Petru)
Recommendation: Review the Budget Policy Issues for the FY 08-09 budget and provide staff with direction.

5.         City Manager’s Proposed FY 08-09 Budget (Petru)
Recommendation: Provide direction regarding the City Manager’s modifications to the proposed FY08-09 budget as presented in the two-year budget document.

6.         Border Issues Status Report (Fox)
            Recommendation: Review the current status of border issues.

ADJOURNMENT:  Adjourn to Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at Fred Hesse Community Park/Fireside Room for Council to conduct interviews of applicants for the Chair of the Equestrian Committee and Chair of the Traffic Safety Commission.
