Pre-Budget Public Discussion
The recommendation was to receive public comment prior to preparation of the preliminary budget document for Fiscal Years 2001-2002 and 2002-2003.
City Manager Evans narrated a computer-generated visual presentation illustrating the following: How property tax dollars are allocated (6% goes to the City), sources of City revenue, expenditures, fund balances, and a five-year financial model.
He said that the City is able to maintain a low cost operation because of geography, a mostly residential population, low crime, and privatized recreation programs at City parks. He said that a hard copy of the presentation would be furnished to the Council.
