City Staff works closely with representatives from the FAA, Los Angeles World Airport, Torrance Airport and other organizations and interested individuals to effectively monitor airspace developments that could affect residents of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes residents and adjoining communities. While the City of Rancho Palos Verdes has no authority over airspace, City staff takes airspace safety and noise impacts on our residents very seriously. Proposed Class C Airspace Designations at Long Beach Airport (LGB)
RPV staff continues to monitor the proposed changes to Long Beach Airport airspace which could have potentially serious noise impact on the Rancho Palos Verdes and neighboring South Bay communities.

Safety and Noise Concerns: Who to Call
The City of Rancho Palos Verdes is dedicated to improved aviation safety and noise reduction. While safety is the highest priority, quality of life issues such as noise management are also important.

LAX Community Noise Round Table
RPV staff regularly attends LAX Community Noise Round Table meetings, which consist of local elected officials and staff, organized community groups, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) management. While safety is the overriding concern, the round table forum provides an opportunity for cooperation between the Airport and local communities to achieve noise impact reduction whenever possible.
