Weekly Activity Report for May 15 - May 21, 2005

CRIME SUMMARY

Crimes reported during this time period in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes included one commercial burglary, one residential burglary, one other structure burglary, two vehicle burglaries, two felonious assaults, one grand theft (auto), five grand thefts, five petty thefts and three acts of vandalism.

ARRESTS

Felonious Assault - 1

May 15

Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown cut a convertible top and stole stereo speakers from a car in the parking area of a complex in the 6700 block of Los Verdes Drive.

May 17

Grand Theft (overnight) - Person(s) unknown stole several items from an unlocked vehicle in the 7000 block of Abbottswood Drive.

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown removed a screen, climbed in a window, and ransacked several rooms in a home in the 6900 block of Larkvale Drive. It was unknown at the time of this report whether anything was taken.

Grand Theft - A victim reported that between April 9th - May 7th, person(s) unknown stole U.S. currency from her home in the 30100 block of Avenida Esplendida. There was no sign of forced entry.

Grand Theft - A victim reported that between May 3rd - 17th, person(s) unknown stole jewelry and a passport from her home in the 27900 block of Ridgegrove Court. There was no sign of forced entry.

May 19

Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown stole a woman's purse from the trunk of a locked car in the 32600 block of Nantasket Drive. There was no sign of forced entry.
Grand Theft (overnight) - Person(s) unknown stole a laptop computer from an unlocked vehicle in the parking area of a complex in the 32600 block of Nantasket Drive.

Felonious Assault (daytime) - A male suspect was arrested after purposely ramming his car into another vehicle after a traffic collision at Palos Verdes Drive East and Via Subida.

Grand Theft (auto) (overnight) - A 2005 BMW 325I was stolen from the parking area of a complex in the 32700 block of Seagate Drive.

Other Structure Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown broke a window and stole several items from a car in the parking structure of a complex in the 32600 block of Nantasket Drive.

May 20

Grand Theft (nighttime) - Two male suspects stole three security cameras from the outside of a building in the 29000 block of Western Avenue.

Felonious Assault (daytime) - A male suspect threatened a male victim with a screwdriver during an argument at a school in the 1900 block of Crestwood Street.

Commercial Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown forced a door open and sprayed graffiti on the walls of a warehouse in the 6600 block of Palos Verdes Drive South.
