HEIGHT VARIATION AND GRADING PERMIT (CASE NO. ZON2005-00067): 6409 Via Canada/Podesta (ES) Request: A request to demolish an existing one-story residence and construct a new two-story residence measuring 4,888 square feet (garage included). A total of 994 cubic yards of grading is proposed to grade the site down so that the new residence maintains a one-story appearance from the street. (This item was continued from the October 25, 2005 and December 13, 2005 Planning Commission meetings). Action Deadline: February 13, 2006 Recommendation: Adopt P.C. Resolution No. 2006-__, conditionally approving Case No. ZON2005-00067 (Height Variation and Grading Permit). CONTINUED BUSINESS: 2. HEIGHT VARIATION PERMIT (CASE NO. ZON2005-00404): 30136 Via Rivera/Stone (KS) Request: A request to construct a 680 square foot first-story addition and a 1,195 square foot second-story addition to an existing two-story single-family residence. (This item was continued from the November 22, 2005 Planning Commission meeting). Action Deadline: January 26, 2006 Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Planning Commission adopt P.C. Resolution No. 2006-__, conditionally approving Case No. ZON2005-00404 (Height Variation and Site Plan Review). PUBLIC HEARINGS: 3. REVISION TO CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT (CASE NO. 2005-00439): Seabreeze HOA (ES) Request: A request to install 3’-7" high pilasters with 30-inch high fencing along the Crest Road and Highridge Road frontages of the Seabreeze Community. Action Deadline: April 20, 2006 Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Planning Commission continue this item to the January 24, 2006 Planning Commission meeting. REGULAR MEETING 7:00 P.M. 4. VARIANCE AND SITE PLAN REVIEW (CASE NO. 2005-00407): 17 Martingale Drive/Gudish (KS) Request: A request to construct a new single-family residence and a two-car garage measuring 2,778 square feet in area on a vacant lot. The proposed residence will measure 14’-7" as measured from the preconstruction (existing) grade at the highest point on the lot to be covered by the structure to the ridgeline, and 29’-10" as measured from the point where the lowest foundation or slab meets finished grade to the ridgeline. A variance is requested to exempt the proposed one-story residential structure from containing a required minimum eight (8) foot step foundation with the slope of the lot. Action Deadline: January 19, 2006. Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Planning Commission adopt P.C. Resolution No. 2006-__, conditionally approving Case No. ZON2005-00407 (Variance and Site Plan Review). 5. HEIGHT VARIATION, GRADING PERMIT, VARIANCE (CASE NO. ZON2003-00620): 6010 Ocean Terrace/LaCharite (DB) Request: A request to conduct 3,649 cubic yards of grading (803 cubic yards cut & 2,846 cubic yards of remedial) and to construct a new 6,709 square foot two-story single-family residence. Additionally, the request includes the construction of a 660 square foot swimming pool and related equipment. The Variance is a request to deviate from the maximum 42" height of a wall located between the structure and the street side, thus allowing the applicant to construct a 6’ tall wall along the street side property line. Action Deadline: February 4, 2006 Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Planning Commission adopt P.C. Resolution No. 2006-___; thereby approving, with conditions, the Height Variation and Grading Permit, and denying, without prejudice, the Variance (Case No. ZON2003-00620). 6. HEIGHT VARIATION PERMIT (CASE NO. ZON2005-00470): 29206 Beachside Drive/McNab (DB) Request: A request to construct a 626 square foot second story addition to an existing 3,974 square foot two-story single-family residence. Action Deadline: January 14, 2006 Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Planning Commission adopt P.C. Resolution No. 2006-___; thereby approving, with conditions, the Height Variation (Case No. ZON2005-00470). EIR SCOPING MEETING: (CASE NO. ZON2005-00317): Marymount College / 30800 Palos Verdes Drive East (AM) Request: Conduct a public hearing to receive oral comments from the public, Planning Commission and Traffic Safety Commission on environmental issues to be addressed in the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the Marymount College Facilities Expansion project. Action Deadline: August 20, 2006 (EIR Certification) Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Planning Commission: 1) Receive additional public comments on environmental issues to be analyzed in the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the Marymount College Facilities Expansion project; and 2) Provide any additional input on the environmental issues to be analyzed in the project EIR.
