HEIGHT VARIATION PERMIT, GRADING PERMIT, VARIANCE AND SITE PLAN REVIEW (CASE NO. ZON2006-00522): 3444 Gulfcrest Drive / Gunderson (SK) Request: A request to conduct 2,098yd³ of grading to accommodate a 2,221ft² addition as a lower level in the rear yard of an existing single-story residence. The proposed height is 26’-0” as measured from the point where the lowest foundation or slab meets finished grade, to the ridgeline or highest point of the structure. The Variance request is to construct a portion (33ft²) of the proposed addition over an extreme slope in the side yard. Action Deadline: June 3, 2007 Recommendation: Adopt P.C. HEIGHT VARIATION PERMIT (CASE ZON2006-00549): 2049 Jaybrook Drive / Ybarra (SK) Request: A request to construct a 461.5ft² single story addition and a 354ft² deck extension to the rear of an existing single-story residence. The proposed height of the overall structure is 25.9’, as measured from the point where the lowest foundation meets finished grade to the ridgeline; and 16.25’, as measured from the highest existing grade to the ridgeline. Action Deadline: July 6, 2007 Recommendation: Adopt P.C. Resolution No. 2007-__, thereby approving the Height Variation Permit (Case No. ZON2006-00549) 3. HEIGHT VARIATION PERMIT (CASE NO. ZON2007-00085): 28445 Lomo Drive / Chen (LM) Request: A request to construct a 536 square foot second story addition to the existing 2,330 square foot two-story single-family residence in the RS-4 zoning district. The new addition would be constructed above the existing 536 square foot garage. The residence would maintain its existing building heights, measuring 22’-0” in height from the lowest finished grade covered by the structure to the top of the highest ridgeline and 23’-0” in height, as measured from the highest pre-existing grade to the top of the highest ridgeline. Action Deadline: July 10, 2007 Recommendation: Adopt P.C. Resolution No. 2007-__, thereby denying, without prejudice, the Height Variation Permit (Case No. ZON2007-00085) 4. MISCELLANEOUS CODE AMENDMENT (CASE NO. ZON2007-00076): City Council / Staff (KF) Request: A request for miscellaneous amendments to Title 17 (Zoning) of the Rancho Palos Verdes Municipal Code, including: 1. A City Council-initiated request to amend Section 17.78.010 to allow for the waiver of duplicate penalty fees for after-the-fact Planning applications in certain specified circumstances; Action Deadline: None Recommendation: Adopt P.C. Resolution No. 2007-__, thereby forwarding a recommendation of approval of the proposed Miscellaneous Code Amendment to the City Council. NEW BUSINESS: 5. REVIEW OF PLANNING COMMISSION RULES & PROCEDURES: City (JR) Request: 1) Review the topics suggested for discussion by Commissioner Tetreault and where appropriate, provide staff with direction on whether to update the Commission’s current Rules and Procedures; 2) Direct Staff to make any other revisions to the Planning Commission’s current Rules and Procedures.
