2. CODE AMENDMENT NO. 47 – LEAD-IN OR DIRECTIONAL SIGNS IN THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY: City of Rancho Palos Verdes. (AM)
A request by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Association of Realtors to amend Section 17.76.050.D.3 (Signs) of Title 17 of the City’s Municipal Code eliminating the brown and gold color requirement for lead-in or directional signs in the public right-of-way.
Recommendation: Table Code Amendment No. 47 to a date uncertain, as requested by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Association of Realtors, and when appropriate re-notice the public hearing.
3. CODE AMENDMENT NO. 48 – PROHIBITING VIOLATORS OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE FROM FILING OR PROCESSING A VIEW
RESTORATION, VIEW PRESERVATION OR CITY TREE PERMIT
APPLICATION, City of Rancho Palos Verdes. (AM)
A City initiated code amendment revising Section 17.86.050.A (Enforcement) of Title 17 of the City’s Municipal Code to prohibit filing or processing a View Restoration, View Preservation, City Tree Review or other development or use applications by a property owner of a lot that is in violation of the City’s Municipal Code.
Recommendation: Review the draft language to amend Section 17.86.050.A (Enforcement) of the Rancho Palos Verdes Development Code to prohibit the filing or processing of a View Restoration, View Preservation, City Tree Review or other development or use application by a property owner of a lot that is in violation of the City’s Municipal Code and forward a recommendation on the code amendment to the City Council.
A request to construct a new two-story residence with attached garage, measuring 3,051 square feet on the first floor, 2,453 square foot on the second floor, and a 748 square foot garage, for a total structure size of 6,252 square feet. The height of the proposed new residence will measure 23-feet as measured from highest existing (preconstruction) grade to be covered by the structure to ridge, and a maximum overall height of 26’ as measured from lowest finished grade to ridge. Further 1,714 cubic yards of grading (partially remedial) is proposed to accommodate the new residence.
Recommendation: Approve Height Variation No. 897 and Grading Permit No. 2170, subject to conditions.
