Requested Action: Allow construction of a pool, spa and related equipment on an extreme slope (37-percent slope) yard area located between the residence and Rue de la Pierre, with related fencing around the new pool. The Variance is requested because the Citys Development Code prohibits development or construction of any structure on any extreme slope (grade of thirty-five percent or greater). Recommendation: Adopt P.C. Resolution No. 2001-__, thereby denying Variance No. 480. (GP) Requested Action: Take testimony regarding the Draft Supplemental EIR prepared for the Indian Ridgecrest Gardens proposal, which involves a request to construct a 64-unit apartment building for seniors located at the northwest corner of Crestridge Road and Crenshaw Boulevard. Thirteen of the proposed units would be reserved for lower income residents (very low to low income), while the remainder would be leased at market rate. The proposed project will include parking, landscaping and an approximate 2,000 square foot community room for residents only. Proposed grading for the project would consist of 25,302 cubic yards of cut, 14,044 cubic yards of fill and 11,258 cubic yards of export. Recommendation: Open the public hearing and receive public comments on the Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Report (SEIR) for the proposed Indian Ridgecrest Gardens Senior Housing Project. Additionally, staff requests Planning Commission input regarding the Draft SEIR. NEW BUSINESS: Requested Action: Discuss the Draft Processing Schedule. Recommendation: Receive and File. 6. LONG POINT RESORT (consisting of Coastal Permit No. 166, General Plan Amendment No. 28, Conditional Use Permit Number 215, Conditional Use Permit No. 216, Parcel Map No. 26073 and Grading Permit No. 2229, and Grading Permit No. 2230) DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT; Destination Development Corporation, (applicant), 6610 Palos Verdes Drive South and 30940 Hawthorne Boulevard. (DS) Take testimony regarding the Draft EIR prepared for the Long Point Resort proposal involving a mix of uses including a 9-hole golf course and a public practice facility, a 400 room hotel (including some bungalow units), 50 casita units with a maximum of 3 keys per unit, 32 single key resort villa units, conference center, related commercial uses, restaurants, trails, and public park areas, coastal access points and parking, and natural open space and habitat areas. The overall acreage of the proposed project is approximately 168.4 acres including the Long Point site (old Marine Land site owned by York Long Point Associates) and a portion Upper Point Vicente property (the areas surrounding the Rancho Palos Verdes City Hall buildings owned by the City of Rancho Palos Verdes).
