1. MINUTES OF JANUARY 14, 2003

2. HEIGHT VARIATION PERMIT (CASE NO. ZON2002-00249): 30778 Ganado Drive / Sverdlov (DB)

Request: A request to construct a 642 square foot second story addition to an existing 2,664 square foot single-family residential dwelling unit. The addition will measure 23’-10" from the lowest elevation where the finished grade is adjacent to the building foundation/slab to the highest roof ridgeline, and 23’-5" from the highest elevation where the finished grade is adjacent to the building foundation/slab to the highest roof ridgeline. The Minor Exception Permit is a request to allow the proposed addition to encroach into the required front setback by 2’-2", thus providing a 17’-10" front yard setback.

Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Planning Commission continue the requested Height Variation and Minor Exception Permit to the February 11, 2003 Planning Commission meeting.

3. PROPOSED RECREATIONAL VEHICLE RESIDENTIAL STORAGE AND STREET PARKING REGULATIONS (CASE NO. ZON2002-00580): Citywide/ (JN)

Draft Ordinance

Request: A request to consider an amendment to the City’s Municipal Code to further restrict recreational vehicle (RV) parking and storage on private property.

Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Planning Commission review the draft standards regulating recreational vehicle (RV) parking and storage on private property; listen to public testimony on the proposed standards and provide Staff with direction on how to proceed.

4. INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: Citywide / (KF)

Request: Receive and file the Staff report regarding the establishment of requirements for insurance and indemnification of third parties as a condition of project approval, and provide further direction to Staff as deemed appropriate.

Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Planning Commission Receive and file the Staff report regarding the establishment of requirements for insurance and indemnification of third parties as a condition of project approval, and continue this matter to the joint City Council/Planning Commission workshop on February 8, 2003.

Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Planning Commission approve the requested Encroachment Permit via Minute Order, and subject to conditions.
