1. CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT & GRADING PERMIT (CASE NO. ZON2007-00100): 30840 Hawthorne Boulevard / Salvation Army (ES)

Request: A request to conduct 1,380 cubic yards of remedial grading to facilitate the construction of a 28,627 square foot addition to the existing dormitory building at the Salvation Army’s Crestmont College site. Specifically, the addition will be 3-stories, measure 33’-8” in height to match the height of the existing building, and will result in 20 new apartment-style units for cadet students and their families at the college.
Action Deadline: June 10, 2008
Recommendation: Adopt P.C. Resolution No. 2008-___, certifying the Negative Declaration; and adopt P.C. Resolution No. 2008-__, conditionally approving Case No. ZON2007-00100 for a Conditional Use Permit and Grading Permit.
2. PRELIMINARY REVIEW OF PROPOSED GENERAL PLAN HOUSING ELEMENT AMENDMENT: Citywide / City (ES)

Request: A request to amend the General Plan Housing Element in accordance with State Law, which requires that every city periodically amend their Housing Element. For all cities and counties within the regional jurisdiction of the Southern California Association of Governments, State Law requires that the Housing Element be revised by June 30, 2008.
Action Deadline: June 30, 2008
Recommendation: Open the public hearing, receive any public comments on the amended Housing Element, provide Staff with any feedback on the document, and forward the Preliminary Draft Housing Element to the City Council for review.
3. RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS CODE AMENDMENT (CASE NO. ZON2007-00377): Citywide / City (KF)

Request: A request to amend the City’s Zoning Code to implement the recommendations of the City’s Residential Development Standards Steering Committee, and other miscellaneous Zoning Code “clean-up” amendments.
Action Deadline: None.
Recommendation: Begin discussion of the recommendations of the Residential Development Standards Steering Committee; and continue this matter to March 11, 2008.
