            To review the staff report click here

Request: A request to construct a new, 6,477-square-foot, 2-story single-family residence and attached, 3-car garage; and conduct 643 cubic yards of related grading. The residence would have a maximum height of twenty-six feet (26’-0”) from the lowest finished grade adjacent to the foundation to the highest ridgeline; and sixteen feet (16’-0”) from the highest point of the existing building pad covered by the structure to the highest ridgeline.

Action Deadline: July 22, 2008.

Recommendation: Adopt P.C. Resolution No. 2008-__, thereby denying without prejudice the requested height variation and grading permit (Case No. ZON2006-00643).

Request: A request for a Grading Permit, Minor Exception Permit, Sign Permit and Revision of the existing Conditional Use Permit #96, to establish a Master Plan for the St. John Fisher Church and School property including: The construction of a new sanctuary, preschool, administration building, library, art room, storage area, garage and offices; demolition of existing rectory, youth building and offices; remodel existing offices and classrooms, converting the existing convent into a new rectory and converting the existing sanctuary into a new gymnasium, 30,688 cubic yards of grading (excavation, fill and export), and a new sign at the corner of Crest Road and Crenshaw Boulevard.

Action Deadline: October 23, 2008

Recommendation: 1) Review the revised design and the additional information provided by the applicant to determine whether the modifications and additional information address the Commission’s concerns with the proposed project; and 2) If the proposed revisions are deemed acceptable by the Planning Commission, close the public hearing and direct Staff to bring back the appropriate resolutions and conditions of approval for consideration at the September 23, 2008 Planning Commission meeting.

Request: A request to approve a 28-unit, 2- to 3-story condominium complex with subterranean parking; 22,111 cubic yards of related grading; and the annexation and rezoning of a 440-square-foot portion of the 1.25-acre project site that currently lies within the City of Rolling Hills Estates.

Action Deadline: None.

Recommendation: Receive additional information regarding the recirculated Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND); the feasibility of revising the site plan to reduce the view impacts upon 7 Via La Cima; the outcome of Staff’s discussions with the applicant regarding the requested density bonus; and the status of the review of the revised traffic impact analysis; and continue the public hearing to August 12, 2008 for the adoption of appropriate P.C. resolutions for the MND and project.

Request: A request to amend the City’s Zoning Code to implement the recommendations of the City’s Residential Development Standards Steering Committee, and other miscellaneous Zoning Code “clean-up” amendments.

Recommendation: Review and provide direction regarding the remaining code language and zoning map changes presented at the May 13, 2008, Planning Commission meeting and the Residential Development Standards Steering Committee recommendations regarding fences, walls and hedges; receive the recommendations of the Residential Development Standards Steering Committee regarding minor structures and miscellaneous development provisions for future discussion; and continue the public hearing in this matter to August 12, 2008.
