2. HEIGHT VARIATION, SITE PLAN REVIEW AND GRADING PERMIT (CASE NO. ZON2009-00437): 6505 Palos Verdes Drive East / Southern (AH)
            To review the staff report click here

Request: A request for additions of 1,474 square feet to the first floor and 1,507 square feet to the second floor, resulting in a 6,674 square foot, 2-story single-family residence. The request also includes grading totaling 780 cubic yards, consisting of 128 cubic yards of cut, 652 cubic yards of fill, and three retaining walls.

Action Deadline: March 28, 2010

Recommendation: Adopt P.C. Resolution No. 2010-__; approving, with conditions, Case No. ZON2009-00437, for a Height Variation, Site Plan Review and Grading Permit.

3. HEIGHT VARIATION AND SITE PLAN REVIEW (CASE NO. ZON2010-00005): 4125 Miraleste Drive / Gray (SK)

Request: A request to construct a 140ft² expansion to the garage at the lower floor and a 621ft² addition to the upper floor to an existing two-story residence. The overall height of the existing residence will be increased from 29’-6” to 29’-8”, as measured from the point where the lowest foundation or slab meets finished grade, to the ridgeline or highest point of the structure. Action Deadline: April 9, 2010

Recommendation: Adopt P.C. Resolution No. 2010-__; thereby approving, with conditions, a Height Variation and Site Plan Review (Case No. ZON2010-00005).

4. REVISION TO MASTER SIGN PROGRAM (CASE NO. ZON2010-00007): 31244 Palos Verdes Drive West / Golden Cove Center / Zarrabian (LM)
            To review the staff report click here

Request: A request to revise the Master Sign Program for Golden Cove Center to include a second Trader Joe’s sign along the eastern building façade, include the existing 6’-0” monument sign along Hawthorne Boulevard, modify the existing pole sign along Palos Verdes Drive West, and introduce additional signage on the existing two-story building to accommodate Ofie’s Pilates and Fitness.

Action Deadline: April 11,2010

Recommendation: Adopt P.C. Resolution No. 2010-__; thereby conditionally approving a revision to the Master Sign Program for the Golden Cove Center (Case No. ZON2010-00007).

5. CODE AMENDMENT – APPEAL DECISION DEADLINE (CASE NO. ZON2009-00375): City / Citywide (LM)

Request: A request to amend Chapter 17.80 (Hearing Notice and Appeal Procedures) of the Rancho Palos Verdes Zoning Code (Title 17) to codify the following: 1) A deadline to schedule a public hearing for appealed projects; and 2) Establish a decision deadline for appealed projects.

Action Deadline: None

Recommendation: 1) Review the proposed amendments to Chapter 17.80.030 of Title 17 of the City’s Municipal Code which are necessary to implement the City Council’s directive to establish deadlines for scheduling appeal hearings; and, 2) If the proposed amendments are acceptable, adopt P.C. Resolution No. 2010-__, recommending that the City Council 2 amend Chapter 17.80.030 accordingly.
